Demolition and New Build

McPeake Town Planning assisted a local builder in gaining approval for: Demolition of a house in a character area in Edge Hill, and a new build in a character area. This multiple approval development required a dilapidation report from a local engineer to demonstrate to the Council that the existing house wasn’t habitable. We also had to demonstrate that the existing house had no character values. This was easy as it was a low set red brick bungalow, where the character area is timber Queenslanders. We also had to apply to the Council to demonstrate that the new build was consistent with the above-mentioned character values. This was a great application and great outcome for the community as the demo and new build strengthened the built form and character of the area.
